About Macomb County Criminal History

Macomb County criminal records are divided among the Sheriff’s Records Office, local district courts, the 16th Judicial Circuit Court, Michigan State Police, and the Michigan Department of Corrections. Registry information comes from the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. We built this private reference site to make those boundaries clear and to direct readers to the official portal, counter, address, or phone number that fits the record they need.

Why We Built This Site

Michigan makes many records available, yet it does not place them in one county database. The Macomb County Sheriff keeps its incident reports and jail records. District and Circuit Court clerks maintain case files and dispositions under Michigan Court Rule 8.119. Michigan State Police runs ICHAT through its Criminal Justice Information Center, while the Michigan Department of Corrections operates OTIS. We organize the verified search routes, request steps, office contacts, and limits for these separate systems so readers can start with the proper custodian.

What You Will Find Here

  • Record guides: ways to search and read Macomb County criminal court cases
  • Official check instructions: how ICHAT name searches and authorized fingerprint reviews differ
  • Custodian contacts: routes to the Sheriff’s Records Office, court clerks, Michigan State Police, and MDOC
  • Record-relief information: where Michigan set-aside and Clean Slate processes begin

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference site, not part of Macomb County or the State of Michigan. It has no authority to act for a court, police department, sheriff, or state agency. Those limits mean:

  • We do not retrieve records or perform official background checks
  • We cannot submit a FOIA request, set-aside application, or court filing for a reader
  • We cannot certify a docket, disposition, booking record, or criminal-history response
  • We do not offer legal advice about a charge, warrant, conviction, or pending case
  • We cannot promise that an agency has not changed a fee, address, phone number, or procedure

An official record must come from its custodian, such as the Macomb County Sheriff, the court clerk, or Michigan State Police. This site can identify that office but cannot issue the document.

Search Partners

Search boxes on some pages are supplied by outside providers. Each provider controls its service, prices, terms, and result data. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral payment that supports this resource. We neither set the provider’s charges nor decide which records its results display.
