Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company that supplies that tool. The provider processes the query and displays its response. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the server and analytics services to receive basic technical details:
- Page-view dates, times, and duration
- Browser version and operating system
- Device category and assigned IP address
- Pages opened during the visit
- A referring website, when one is provided
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. They help measure aggregated use, such as which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics vendors may assist with those measurements. You may block cookies through browser controls, although doing so can change how some features behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Macomb County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Macomb County Sheriff, district and Circuit Court clerks, Michigan State Police, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the embedded search tools. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices apply to information entered there. We do not control those rules. Read the provider’s policy before submitting a query.

Links may lead to Macomb County offices, Michigan agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this website, the destination’s privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs under their policies.

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:

Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as having been submitted by a minor will be removed when reasonably verified.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. Michigan’s Freedom of Information Act governs requests to public bodies, while MCL 28.243 governs dissemination of state criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Request deletion where the law provides that choice
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where available
